I was raised in New York playing piano, guitar, and singing. My high school had a great choral program that helped me grow as a leader and musician. By age 16 I knew I wanted to teach chorus because I loved the experience of singing with others. I went to Rutgers University for music education from 2008-2012, singing in 4 choirs throughout (that's a lot of rehearsals!), and even had the opportunity to travel to Scotland with a Renaissance choir. After graduation I taught elementary music for 4 years in both rural and urban New Jersey, before getting an itch to move South. I earned my masters degree through Boston University and taught at two high schools in Cheraw, SC, and am excited to continue my teaching here in Belton and Honea Path! My son, Tristan, was born on 7.29.18 and Jesus and my family are my first-loves.
